This is an incredibly weird photo posted by YouTube user ‘itsnotmeitsmeclone’. The user says they don’t know who made the video…and they don’t want to know. Niether do I. I made the mistake of pausing this video 50 seconds in and it was as freaky as the bunny monster in Donnie Darko. Watch with caution, this gets weird!

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘Katsukotan’. I chose this video because it was posted by the cosplayer and she had so much to say about it:
“I totally forgot all the text for the song when I was about to sing…so I just sang something the first verse was almost correct and so was the bridge, but the chorus I get all wrong! I was supposed to sing Hikari no Uzu noboritsumeteku….and so on and the Nozomu no nara part was for the second time I sing the chorus stupid me!!
And I suddenly disappear from the stage because my hair got caught in a chair, while I was putting on my gloves.”

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘dedeKISSchan’. Here she showcases the many Usagi Tsukino, Princess Serenity and Sailor Moon costumes that she has put together over the years. There is one photo where she looks as though she is trying to pole dance, but other than that, they are honest cosplay photos. It looks as though she has put a lot of work into her costumes, but I’m not sure if they are bought or made by her.

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘xXPaulsGirlXx’. It is a collection of still photos of Sailor Moon cosplayers set to music with a few effects. From the comment to the side of the video, it sounds like the author doesn’t exactly have permission to post the photos, so these may be some that you might not find published in too many places on the web.

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘mandymitchell’. This is a video of a Sailor Moon skit performed at the 2007 Anime Expo. It isn’t so much a skit as them walking around and pointing at things. I liked this one because it featured all of the Sailor Senshi, and thier poses offer a good look at the kind of material the costumes are made of.
From one of the cosplayers: “We performed to “Viva” by Bond. Our Eternal Sailor Senshi costumes were based off of the Sailor Moon manga. We won the ADV Films Industry Award.”
At Flickr, you can find all sorts of treasures that people have posted to link up to other web sites, or as stand-alone galleries. Such is U-E ’s gallery, which details the making of a Kingdom Hearts costume, as designed and made by ‘Saeru’.
Not only are the costumes stunning, but the photography in U-E’s gallery is just fun to look at. These striking images help to bring to life what the hours spent on these costumes was intended to do. Here are the characters from the Kingdom Hearts game, as real as you or I. This is a fantastic example of what meticulous costuming and expert photography can achieve.
At TRsRocking.com , you can see theĀ rockin’ cosplay of ‘TR’, a girl who not only puts together outstanding cosplay costumes, but she also shows you how it’s done. For this cute Princess Peach outfit, TR has put together a guide that you can follow to make your own Princess Peach costume. TR describes which sewing patterns she has used, what her accessories are made from and even where she got the parasol to match. There are photos of each item taken before the costume was complete.
Visit TR’s site for more photos of her Princess Peach costume and instructions on how to make a variety of characters.

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘dizzysoi’. This is a great look into some crazy and typical moments at anime conventions, including one surprising moment where a guy proposes onstage to his future wife…while both in costume. There are short interviews with convention attendees and explainations about some of the cosplay culture. Let me know what you think of this video.

The next video comes from YouTube member ‘Uchihaltachi19′. Inuyasha is a common cosplay favorite. Here, we see both the good, bad and the ugly of Inuyasha cosplay. While some of the initial photos are hard to make out, there are better shots about ten seconds in. You’ll notice some very amateur cosplay right up to expert pieces. Let me know what you think of this video.
