Mario Costume

Mario has become Nintendo’s mascot and one of the most popular characters in video game history. This Italian plumber handyman has been fighting Bowser to save Princess Peach since he began his debut. Now you can take on the heroic adventure-loving role of Mario himself with the Mario Handyman Adult Costume from Leg Avenue. This 3 piece costume includes red hat, red shirt, and blue overals with attached yellow buttons.

You can also make a Princess Peach costume to match. Do you have any hints or tips on putting together a Mario costume? Would it be easier to grab a pair of overalls and a red shirt? What do you think?

Sexy Nurse Costume Video Series

Expert Villiage has put together a series of videos that tackle different elements of a sexy nurse costume.  It would be nice to have the whole costume in one video for bookmarking purposes, but with separate videos, at least we can get an in-depth look at every step of the costume. Here is an index of the sexy nurse videos for your convenience:

Sexy Nurse Costume - How to Curl Eyelashes

Sexy Nurse Costume Accessories

How to Create the Sexy Nurse Costume

How to Apply Fake Eyelashes

Costume Material for Sexy Nurse Costumes

How to Apply Sexy Nurse Eye Makeup

Clipping Back Hair for the Sexy Nurse Costume

What do you think? Is it repetitive and annoying to have to watch so many different videos for the same costume? Comment below.

The $1000 Batman Costume

This funny video from TheOffline.com features a man named Nathan who dons his buddy’s $1000 Batman costume in order to buy an ‘evil free’ cappuccino from the local Tim Horton’s drive-thru. Watch him struggle to gather his Bat-Change.

From the user: “My friend Nick bought a one thousand dollar batman suit. Until this video it had only been used once. Filmed unnecessarily in High Definition.”

It hurts watching him trying to put on and take off the rubber mask. I’m wondering who in their right mind spends $1000 on a Batman costume and only wears it once. I’d be hitting Wal-Mart in that thing for a year.

Batman: Average Citizen

Based on the popularity of the $1000 Batman Costume video, I’m posting another caped crusader in action. From Youtube user ‘Can of Nothing’:

“Phil, of Can of Nothing fame, dons the Batman costume and takes on the city! What evil will he encounter?! No evil! Today, Batman is just your average citizen! Well…he tries to be. ”

It turns out that Batman returns renegade shopping carts to the local grocery store and poses for photos with the local madriff-topped high school girls. Who knew? This video starts out with some good costumey-fun potential, but peters out as Batman gets rejected by the ladies and is reassured by the camera man. This video is about 14 minutes and 16 seconds too long.

Make a Corpse Bride Costume

A Corpse Bride costume is a great thrift store costume. Find a wedding dress at a thrift store that only costs you a few bucks and you are already on your way to a fantastic costume. You can also make fake blood by mixing corn syrup and red food coloring. For the ribs, I have heard that you can paper mache a row of ribs to put behind a hole in the costume.

Do you have any hints or tips on how to make a Corpse Bride costume? I am especially interested in how you would put together the wig, which is usually found at the costume shops as a yarn creation.

Cave Woman Costume How-To

Check out this cave woman costume from DIY Fashion at About.com. This is a good last-minute costume because it doesn’t take much more than a furry sheet of fabric to complete. One thing I would add is a fake bone, which you can probably find a ta costume store. Roll the bone up in the front of your hair and use a pony tail holder or hair pins to keep it in place.

Do you have any suggestions on how to make a cave woman costume? Would you rather be Pebbles, Wilma or Betty? What do you do instead of wearing shoes?

How to Make a Cloak

There are so many costumes that require a cape to look complete. Even Snow White had a cape. From super heros to Lord of the Rings elves, capes are a must-have. The capes you find at Halloween stores are often lacking in quality, are too long or too short, and some don’t have a hood when you need one.

Here is a step-by-step photo tutorial that will show you how to make your own cape. The steps are easy enough for a beginning sewer to understand, and a seasoned seamstress will have no problem piecing this one together.

What do you think about this tutorial? Do you know where else to learn how to make a cape?

Poison Ivy Costumes Online

If you don’t opt to make your own Poison Ivy costume, you can always buy one on the web. Most of the time, you can find some great deals, and even free shipping on costumes bought online. I also like the idea that buying online means buying form an individual instead of a larger retailer.

For a Poison Ivy costume, you should have a good pair of red boots or heels and a crop of red hair. After that, your costume can be most any combination of leaves and spandex. Have you found a good deal on a Poison Ivy costume online? Let us know by commenting below.
