I imagine that in a landfill somewhere, years in the future, people will come upon bags full of beer-stained red suits and frameless glasses and wonder what kind of wild librarian convention we had in 2008. With Palin headed back up to Alaska after the events of last night’s election, you can bet that we aren’t predicting repeat performances of some of the best Palin costumes that came out of the woodwork this Halloween.

Here are a few suggestions for what to do with you woe-be-gone Caribou Barbie outfit.

• Save the suit! Get that Jell-O shot stain out of there and wear it to your next job interview.
• Use the glasses to adorn one of those creepy animated Santa’s in the upcoming holiday.
• Give all those cans of hairspray to your sister/aunt/roommate. The smell of her head will remind you of Tina Fey for months.
• Look at the bright side, you’ve perfected your northern accent and innocent winking abilities.
